I have been an English teacher for 8 years. Most recently I worked as a reading and writing specialist in the Clayton School District working primarily with 6th graders. However, in the past 4 years, I have also worked with children of all ages from kindergarten through 5th grade using reading strategies I have developed to enhance comprehension and reading fluency with young children. I am also in graduate school working towards a masters in education and certification in reading. As a result I have taken a number of courses that have taught me how to assist students with reading. I love working independently with children and easily establish a rapport with all that I have worked with previously.
